HP 7350 won't stay connected

Just upgraded from W98SE to XP Home. HP 7350 (Photosmart)
installs ok (downloaded latest HP drivers). The printer
works until the PC is shut down and restarted, then the
printer disconnects. I have to uninstall/reinstall again,
and again, etc. (about 10 times so far). Other USB devices
work fine. Error message says computer can't find the
printer. Could it be IRQ conflict? And if so, how can I
fix it?

Go to device manager then go to Universal Serial Bus controller double click
all the root hubs and under the power management tab uncheck allow this
computer to turn off this device to save power and that should fix it.
