which model of printer you talking about?
what kind connection you use(LPT,USB,Network)
printed at times means a test page print out from driver installation?
only part of page printing means, which program did you use to printing.
and did you check printer settings?
(Paper size, other print options, and etc from printer's help or user guide's trouble shoot)
