How to XP Home SP2 to XP Pro no SP

G

Guest

Hello.

I want to upgrade an XP Home SP2 to XP Pro no SP. When i attempt it, i get
the message "Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your
computer is newer than the version on the CD. "

It says to boot from the CD, and follow the instructions for a new
installation.

When i try that, i get the big blue screen that halts the whole operation.

I know the CD has no service packs on it, but i can always upgrade from the
internet once i have XP Pro installed.

Does anybody know how to get around this problem ?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

It appears your version of Windows XP Pro
does not include SP2. To resolve this issue,
you can easily make a new Windows XP Pro
CD with SP2 slipstreamed in, then upgrade.

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)
