How to "turn on" the coloured ink cartridge?

To save the cost of coloured ink, I asked a friend to "turn off" the colour,
and only print in black ink. I now want to turn the coloured ink cartridge
back on. How do I do it? I would really appreciate any help.

It could have been done in a couple of places. What program are you
using to print--or are you using multiple programs? (the answer may
help determine where it was "turned off")
