I bought some new ink ink cartridges for my printer, then shortly after installing them my printer went crap. It was under warranty, so I kept them to use on new printer, but they have dried up I guess. Is there a way to prime them to get them to work instead of throwing them away. They cost to much to do that.

Once they've dried up I guess they've gone. :(

I have an Epson printer but never buy Epson cartridges. There are lots of cheaper alternatives out there on the net.

Often you will find that they haven't dried up but whats actually happened is that ink has dried inside the printhead and no ink can get through the nozzles. This is a very common occurrence especially with Epson printers. More often than not it occurs straight after replacing the ink cartridges. You need a cleaning fluid to break down the dried ink. Very common problem with inkjet printers.
