How to "Show common tasks" in just one folder

Included in "Folder Options" is a radio button that says "Show common tasks
in folders." This option places a set of commands on the left 20% or so of
the screen.

Problem?

You have to make this choice for all folders. You can't Show Common Tasks
in some folders and not in others. Is there a way to eliminate the common
tasks in only one folder and its children while preserving it in others?

Thanks,

Norm

No but you can customize your view a little differently and it will be
available when needed and easily turned off when you don't need it.

1) Leave the box checked for common tasks.

2) If there is not a "Folders" button on your Explorer's standard toolbar,
right click and choose Customize. Use the next screen to add "Folders" to
the toolbar. Clicking this Folders button will swap out common tasks to
show the folder tree. Click again to bring back common tasks.

Not a perfect solution but I've found it to be useful.

In fact, that's the way I'm doing it now. I was hoping for a more elegant
solution. :)

Thanks anyway,
