How to set IE6 as default browser?

Changing Tools / Internet Options / Programs / "Internet Explorer should
check to see whether it is the default browser" has no effect. When I restart
IE6, nothing happens, and Mozilla is still the default browser. Why there is
not button to set IE6 as default?

Hi Harri :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Open IE >Tools>Internet Options>Programs tab
Make sure "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default
browser" is
CHECKED.
Press Ok, athen close and reopen IE. A confirmation dialog box should
appear asking you whether you want it to be the default browser again. Click
Yes.

Because "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default
browser" didn't work, I eventually found Start / "Set Program Access and
Defaults", and it allowed me to set IE as default.

Yes, Thanks for posting your solution, Harri. I had IE taken over by MSN
Exlorer and could not get it back until I went as you found out to Start /
"Set Program Access and Defaults",
