I Can't reset OE6 default browser back to IE6 in WinXP-H

I reset my default browser to firefox and now I can't set it back to IE6.

I turned off firefox's "check to see if this is default browser", and turned
it on in IE6. But when I restarted IE6, it didn't ask whether it should be
the default, and firefox remained the default.

I did all the same things and then rebooted. Still no change.

I renamed firefox, and OE6 just went nowhere when a link was clicked.

I looked through the registry, but couldn't find a variable containing the
default browser for OE6. I could find no place to reset it in the control
panel.

Any suggestions?

How to Make Internet Explorer the Default Web Browser:

Also check settings in Add/Remove Programs > Set Program Access and
Defaults.

Then:

1. http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx;

2. http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx

If still no joy, see:

VOILA! Thanks!
So why does the MS help site talk about everything else BUT?
Is this a new option for XP?
