How to set hyperlinks without ctrl+click to open them?

Help, new job, new computer.
Every program I set hyperlinks in requires the user to use ctrl+click to
open a hyperlink. In the past all the user had top do was click on the
hyperlinks. How can I change this setting back to make it easier on the user?
Clarification: I wan the user to just click on the hyperlink to open it.
Thanks,
Mary

Carol,
That works for Word which is great! :)
Do you know how to fix it in other office professional programs like Excel
or Publisher?
I really appreciate this!

To my knowledge, you don't have to use Ctrl in Excel - you can just click on
the link. I'm not sure about Publisher, but you could post in a Publisher
newsgroup.
