My office computer (WinXP Pro, NTFS) has had Goback 3 delux on it for
some time and it has worked well, saving my butt a number of times.
All of a sudden it goes wacky and the goback screen says goback's
database is corrupted, do I want to recover/repair? I click yes and
then nothing happens (at least not after 8 hours of waiting). Each
time I reboot the same message comes up. There is no option to disable
Goback. It just wants to repair. Even if I don't click "Yes" it
attempts to repair anyway and I end up back at square one.
So I decide heck, I'll just uninstall Goback. No deal. The error
message always comes up first rather than the option to delete the
app. Trying to F-8 into safe mode doesn't work either because goback
precedes the F8 options.
I can't use a boot disk because of the NTFS partition. As far as I can
see THERE IS NO F***in' way to remove this program!! I just wished
they would have told the buyer that up front!
Roxio is not longer in the Goback business. Symantec is now the
support people and their site (believe it or not) has no mention of
how to remove goback manually.
I regret formatting my harddrive to NTFS. It has caused me nothing but
grief.
There is no roxio/goback ng. Guess I'm SOOL. It will take me at least
15 hours to reformat the drive and reinstall WinXP and all my apps.
Unless somebody out there has some answer. Is there maybe a way of
bypassing goback by using the install CD?
