How to insert the Endnote at any desirable position?

Hi there,

I am using Word to write my graduate thesis, which has several chapters.

Due to formatting reasons, I separated each chapter into a separate Section
(by inserting section breaks). Therefore I inserted all references at the
"end of the document", putting them together.

However, I now realized that I need to write an appendix chapter AFTER the
reference! (and I do not wann just leave it in a separate doc file, which is
kind of awkward.)

So I am now wondering 1) if there is anyway of still inserting a chapter
even following the references, which word already regarded as at the end of
the doc.

or 2) whether it is actually better to insert the references at after a
custom-designated section break (instead of just simply after-this-section or
end-of-doc) very early on. How much control does Word give to the user on
this?


I think many people may face this situation when they are preparing a big
file containing many chapters.
