how to disable filterkeys for shift?

I tend to rest my hand on the shift key while I'm
thinking of the next sentence while writing. This brings
up filter keys, which seems to disable my ability to use
the shift key normally (disables use of numbers and
forces use of caps lock to change case). Is there a
simple way to disable filterkeys altogether? I use
public computers at the school library (xp pro) so I will
have to change the settings on computers every time I log
in.

Thanks

Open Control Panel and open Accessibility Options. Remove the check from
Use FilterKeys, click apply and ok.

NOTE: many computers that you might use may require an administrator to
access this option so you may not be able to turn it off on public computers
as many such systems use administrator accounts to prevent the public or
unauthorized personnel from making such changes.
