how to delete icon

I installed a game not noticing I already it. Now I have like 3 icons on my
desktop. When I try to delete the extra ones I get this message "Cannot
delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk." What is going on I
don't know what is going on??? Thanx

Try from Command Prompt / or from Safe Mode.
