hi all,

i have made a mistake in all my ppt slides. i created them using AutoContent
Wizard - [Generic] and had put Footers in as well as ticking date last
modified and slide numbers. now i want to delete all of these footers i.e.
the actual free text footers that i typed in during the wizard, date last
modified as well as the slide numbers. can someone advise me on how to do
this please. thank you.

If you go to Insert --> Date/Time, you can uncheck all those checkboxes, and
the footer information will no longer be on your slide. The placeholders
will still be there, but they will not be visible since they will not contain
information.

Your other option would be to open the Slide Master (View --> Slide Master),
then select & delete those fields from the master. You'd have to make sure
you do both the "body" slide & the "title" slide masters to completely
eliminate those text boxes.

Hope this helps!

Not a good plan. What happens if they want to use the footer at a later
date? I'd go with TR's suggestion.

Thank you all for your response. I'll follow TR suggestions. Having gone from
the early incarnations of ppt to what it is now (in Office 2003 sp1), I wish
MS would have installed methods or at least give instructions on how to undo
those things created by one of their wizards. I should have known better and
goes without saying that the next time I would be very reluctant to use
wizards in MS applications. Be that as it may - thank you all once again for
your help and advice.
