how to change windows explorer look and setup

how do you change the windows explorer look and setup? My
versions expands my computer and C:\drive on startup and
not My Documents as I wish it would be. I have set things
as i wish them to be and closed with FILE and CLOSE and
also with the CLOSE Alt F4 at the top with no success it
opens wrong.
 
Open any explorer window and navigate to Tools > Folder Options > View tab.
