How to change user?

Reference user accounts under Documents and Settings (Windows
Explorer). I goofed during this XP installation and mistakenly ended
up with a folder name under Documents and Settings that I want to
change.

It seems I created a user account 'Duke' just fine, and it shows under
Control Panel>User Accounts. However. under Documents and Settings,
it shows as 'Duke.test', and all files, shortcuts, etc that I create
when I am running as Duke end up under Duke.test. No surprise I
guess, and I can live with that.

However, just to make things less confusing, I would like to rename
Duke.test as just Duke. Of course the system will not let me do that.

Is there any way to do this?

You can't rename the User Profile folder while you are logged on to the
accout, to rename the folder you will need to log on as another user
with administrative privileges. After you rename the user's profile
folder you will need to change the ProfileImagePath value in the
registry to reflect the changes, see here for step by step instructions:

Thank you John

I used a combo of duplicating profiles and deleting profiles to get
what I wanted.
Problem solved.

Creating a duplicate profile is almost always the best solution to this
problem. Thanks for the follow up.
