Hi,

To change the wallpaper for the logon window, use regedit.exe
and go to this key:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop\

You need to fill in the path to the wallpaper file in the registry
value "Wallpaper", and maybe adjust/set values in "TileWallpaper"
and/or "WallpaperStyle".

To see what value data you need to set, set the wallpaper as you want
it in your account first, and see what values are set under the
registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\

Hello,

I heard or read some time ago that the service pack (or hotfixes, I
can't remeber) refuse to install, because the ntoskrnl.exe has an
illegal checksum.

Is this true?
Hi,

Yes, this is true, and I *strongly* advise against modifying
NTOSKRNL.EXE and BOOT.INI to have a modified boot logo.

Hi

Dunno......... but you can just expand it from the installation media if you need the original anyways, and if you've messed about editing and replacing it in the first place then it shouldnt be too hard to put the original back fr upgrade purposes
