Changing the Windows Login Background?

V

Victor

How do I change the light blue background when I start up Windows 2000 and it says "Log
in to Windows"? (NOT the desktop wallpaper, the light blue "login to Windows"
background).

I want to change it to a corporate logo.

Thanks,

Vic

Windows XP has a program TweakUI XP that allows you to do this.

Unfrtunately, under W2K, TweakUI is crippled.

However, a freeware application Tweak Manager from www.winguides.com,
permits this under the My Computer/Windows/Login and Authentication.

There is a free side and pay side to the program. The free side has MANY
options to tweak Windows 2000. Plus, it works under ALL Windows OS.

Also, when you chose to change the option, you can also click on the View
Online... button, and it will show you EXACTLY what Registry Key it is
modifying to accomplish that request.

FYI: The key that is changed is the HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors
value/data info. e.g.,

Background REG_SZ 58 110 165

Tweak Manager allows you to pick a color/background from a palette or create
a color.
