I hardly checked my e-mail yesterday, so most of it came in one large batch this morning before I went to uni.

I seem to get at least 200 pieces of junk each and every day

Anyone here get quite a bit?

About twenty a day to my BBF address, which is public, about ten a week to all other accounts.

I use the free version of Mailwasher for the BBF account, but they don't give up.

And I'm really not interested in viagra; pirate software; fake wrist watches or enlarging certain parts of my anatomy

Am I right in thinking that mailwasher is used before you check your mail to bounce replies... so it stops spam in the long run, but a bit longer each time you check?

I use Outlook 2003 for e-mail in Windows.

Before checking e-mail I open Mailwasher and it lists all e-mails waiting for me on their various servers. By pressing the space bar you can remotely view their content.

Those you don't want to receive, you tick a box. Then press 'process mail' and the sender receives a 'not delivered' message as if you didn't exist.

Mailwasher then remembers the banned addresses and after that those addresses are marked for deletion/bouncing each time you open the program.

With the free version you can only use it for one account and not a hotmail address or similar.

I'm seriously considering buying the Pro version which you can use for multiple accounts. It costs $37.00 (£21.12 at current exchange rates).

About two to three hundred a day in my main office email account, 2-5 a month in my gmail one and 1-5 a day in PC Review one.

I get about 10 a day, again a mix of viagra/penis enlargement etc and more recently phishing emails trying to tempt me into giving my bank/credit card details - the big giveaway with the phishing ones is that most of them purport to be from banks I have no accounts with

Like Floppy, I use Mailwasher Pro - and just bounce 'em back again :D

Spam, spam, spam

I get about 60-80 a day on 2 different email accounts. But as i use these 2 really to filter junk away from other accounts. On my main home email hardly any, may be 1 or 2 a day.

If i get to many and i can not stop them, i stop using the account and get a new one, it's so simple to do so these days.

Probably about 10-15 week in my telecom account. None in my gmail one. Guess which account I use? Just been running clamXav & it found 2 Trojans mixed in with my spam, just for flavouring obviously. McAfee had missed them entirely. Wonder what else it's missed?
