jpg files sent from Nikon program via Outlook Express are unable to be opened
and viewed in Microsoft Outlook. When received the subject line says there
is a jpg file but the attachment to the email has no file type at all and
won't open. The original email is usually split into 8. Same is happening
with .png files. I cannot find any setting to change in Outlook which has
fixed this.

Outlook isn't responsible for these files not being able to open. You may
want to check your file associations:

Open Windows Explorer
Tools | Folder Options | File Types
Look through this list and see if anything is associated with JPG or PNG>
If not there's the cause of your problem. If so, there are further problems
with your Windows installation since that is what tells Outlook to open files
with.

If the message is split into multiple pieces, the sender has an option in
his or her mailer set that breaks the message apart on send. You will need
to recombine the message before you'll be able to open it. There are many
freeware tools than can do this. Google will find them for you. Look for
"split and recombine mail files".
