no longer able to open jpg attachments to emails

Suddenly I can no longer open jpg attachments in emails (pdfs open without
issue). I use Outlook 2007, Windows XP. Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.090206-1234 : Service Pack 3). When I click to open I get
a message: C:\Documents and Settings\Sonia\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\content.outlook\AYNOOQMU\jpg name could not be opened. I can preview
the file but if I save it to another folder it still will not open. I have
made no changes to any settings but there may have been a microsoft update
received and applied prior to the problem starting. Folder options are set
to open jpg, jpeg extensions with Nero PhotoSnap Viewer. Can anyone help me
please?
