how do i stop default music from starting after I leave the comput

Hello...I have a new laptop that i listen to music on...while listening to
music, the computer starts playing the default music (which I cant figure out
how to shut off)...anyone have an idea? it is an acer laptop wiyth windows xp
on it...thanks in advance....

Hi ff002,

Open the Sounds and Audio Devices applet in Control Panel, then click on the
Sounds tab. Use the drop-down picklist in the Sound scheme field to select No
Sounds, then click on Apply then OK.

Thanks patti...i tried that efore and it still doesnt stop the cursed music
from coming on...I tried searching for music and deleting all of the sample
music and it still keeps coming on.....any other places to try?

Hmmm.....I'm wondering if it's audio from a screensaver. If you have a
screensaver selected, go to your Display Properties>Screensaver tab and click
on the Settings button beside the Screensaver field. See if there is a
setting there that allows you to disable/mute/turn off the audio.
