Display not turning on

I have a dell laptop which I recently installed a new hardrive and Windows
XP. Ever since, when the display gets closed and then opened back up, it does
not turn back on. Everything is still running per my power settings. If the
laptop is closed up while in itunes where the spacebar starts and stops
music, i can open the laptop back up, hit the spacebar, the music will start
playing, but my display is blank? Therefore, I must hold down the power
button til it shuts off, then start it back up each time.

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!

you don't mention what new
hardware you installed, for whatever
reason.

but its likely that if you
uninstall it, you might resolve the
incompatibility issues.

you might want to run
msinfo32 and see if there are any conflicts
or a third party software like pcwizard.

also, you might want to check with dell
since you might need an updated
driver from dell.
