how do i print my background?

Ive put a fill effects background on a word document, but it doesnt appear on
the screen the way its supposed to, and when i go to print preview its not
there and it doesnt print out ewither. My printer is set to print
backgrounds. I dont know whats going on.. please help. thnx.

How is your printer "set to print backgrounds"? If you're referring to the
"Background printing" option on the Print tab of Tools | Options, that is
irrelevant; it refers to printing *in* the background (while you continued
to work). Only Word 2003 has a setting to print "Background colors and
images."

In previous versions of Word, you *can* print the background if you save the
document as a Web page, open it in your Web browser, and print from the
browser window after enabling the browser's setting to print background
colors and images. Failing that, you can use a "watermark" instead of a
"background."
