Background won't print

I have a tiled picture as a background for my Word 2007 document. However,
when I print the page, I only see one tile of the picture in the center of
the page. I set the Options to "Print background colors and pictures", but
then I get a solid color background with one tile of the picture in the
center of the page. Please help. I just want my document to print just like
it looks in Print Preview. Thanks in advance.

The original picture was very small (1/4 inch) and when tiled as a background
produced what looked like a solid color background. I tried it with a larger
picture and realized that what Word was actually doing was shrinking the
picture by a factor of 10 when printing. The confusion exists because the
Print Preview looks nothing like the printout. I am going to try enlarging
the first picture. Thanks for the suggestion to try a different
document-that led to the solution.
