problem inserting picture background

I am using Vista, Word 2007 and a Dell photo 926 priinter. How do I get a
picture background to print properly? It looks fine in Print Preview but
prints as tiny tiles over the entire page.
Also, is there a way to make the background picture the same size as the page?

You can add the picture as a watermark instead: On the Page Layout tab,
click Watermark, and then click Custom Watermark. Choose the "Picture
watermark" option and locate the picture. For "Scale," choose "Auto."
