I have address labels in word format that I'm trying to import into outlook's
contact folder then I could sync it to my pocket pc - howver, the import
folder asks for file types I do not recognize and no word choises or "all
files" any suggestions would be helpful.

I'm running win xp ith 2002 outlook and office. Thank you

You will need to have them formatted in something other than a *.doc and
depending on the layout it may just be case of saving the file as a *.CSV or
cutting/pasting into Excel. For instance if they are in a table in word then
you could convert the table so the items are separated by a tab or coma and
save the results to a CSV which Outlook can then work with.

thank you, now hopefully I can figure out how to convert the table so that
the items are separated by a column as they are currently set up using
labels format in word. I'll try this later today. thanks for your time.
