hotmail signing in problem

can t seem to sign into my hotmail account when i sign in
it goes to attempt 2 /3/4 /5 /6/ then say unable to sign
in problem internet provider or web page phoned by both
please help me many thanks both of these and was told no
problem

I had this problem - and it took me a day to sort it out.
Hotmail Help said to install Internet Explorer 6 from
Windows Update, but my computer refused to do this,
saying (wrongly) that IE6 had not been approved for XP!
In the end, I tracked the whole problem to
a 'cryptographic service error' (don't even
ask what that means). The advice at this link was very
helpful - after I followed all of it (including the
section about installing patches) I was able to install
XP SP1 and thus IE 6, and Hotmail and everything else now
works fine:
