I get a "Page Not Found" message when I try to access one particular Hotmail
account from one of my computers. I can access this account from all other
computers at home, at work, and at friends houses. Only this one computer
returns a PNF error. Yet this same computer can access all other Hotmail
accounts. So, I have one computer that gets a PNF error on a single Hotmail
account that's accessible from every other computer I've tried, but can open
every other Hotmail account I've tried. This started about 10 days ago.
I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Internet Explorer 6, and have
kept it up-to-date. I have not installed a new program in weeks although I
have gotten updates for some of my programs (Windows Defender, AVG AntiVirus,
etc.). One thing I can think of that is unique to both each Hotmail account
and each computer is the cookie(s) Hotmail leaves. If one is corrupted only
on the offending machine it would explain why it's the only one that gets the
PNF error for just the one account. I've looked at both cookies for that
account, and they seem similar (but not identical) to the corresponding ones
on my other machines.
My thinking for now is to delete the 2 cookies for the account that gets the
PNF error and see if Hotmail will replace them with new ones that work. But
I don't know if Hotmail will replace missing cookies for an existing account.
