HOSTS file problem!

Hi

I downloaded a HOSTS file that includes many entries to block unwanted
sites, i want to test to see whether it works so i also added www.yahoo.com
like that:

127.0.0.1 www.yahoo.com

the file is in capital letters HOSTS and in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

now from a command prompt when i type PING www.yahoo.com
im correctly receiving reply from my host instead of real one, im receiving
reply from 127.0.0.1

BUT

www.yahoo.com still open in my browser !? why its not blocked ? im i wrongly
understand something?

thanks
Bassam

Hi,

You have to start Windows again before the HOSTS file takes effect. Also,
you must clear the cache of your browser.

Kind regards
