Can not get computer browsing to work

I have 2 computers on a network that I have been trying to enable to see each
other.

First computer: ROBERT
Second computer: BOBX2

If I go to ROBERT, I can ping BOBX2 by IP address, but not by name. If I go
to BOBX2, I can ping ROBERT, again by IP address, but not name.

If I go to a command line, NET VIEW only shows the shares on the current
computer.

On both computers I have selected enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

net config server on either workstation shows that they are NOT hidden.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

First try to determine whether this is a File and Printer sharing issue or
simply browsing/name resolution - try:

1. On BOBX2 click Start/Run \\IPaddressofROBERT ENTER.

2. If #1 does not work, make sure that ROBERT has a user account which
exactly matches the user name and password used to log onto BOBX2. You do
not need to log onto ROBERT with this account - just create it.

3. If #2 does not work either, check any firewalls and third party security
software.
