So... I've had my HP laptop with Vista for about 3 years. Well about 2
months ago, whenever I would put the computer into Hibernation mode or Sleep
mode, and would wake it up, a message would pop up stating that "Host
Services have stopped". So when I would tell windows to find the problem, it
wouldn't find anything. Does this mean that I need to do a Factory Restart
(which if I do, this will be the 7th time in the past 2 out of 3 years) or
does it mean that I need to go ahead and upgrade to Windows 7? Because
either operating system doesn't bother me... I got an iMac the other day...
So that is now my primary computer.

Hard to say. You may just need a driver update (something's not coming out
of sleep), or you could have some failing hardware. First thing I'd do is
run a hard drive test. I like Western Digital's diagnostics program. If
everything passes, I'd just do a reload. Windows 7 isn't that much
different than Vista in my opinion.
