Home SP2 - Pro Upgrade

Current system is XP Home SP2. When I insert my Pro
upgrade CD it states: Setup cannot continue because the
version of Windows on your computer is newer than the
version on the CD.
Any help appreciated.
 
Interesting. You upgraded home to SP2, but the Pro version is pre-SP2
(of course), so it won't install.

You don't have a lot of options here, but they are:

1. Wipe the system and do a clean install
2. Try making a "slipstreamed" XP Pro CD with SP2. Even that might not
work.

Uninstall SP2, install the Pro upgrade, then reinstall SP2.
 
SP2 is a new version of XP?
SP2 is NOT a new version of XP at all, it is a SERVICE pack.
XP is an OS, since when has a service pack been an OS????
Windows XP including SP2 is just that, windows XP.
