XP oem home to XP pro upgrade

I am currently using XP home OEM and have a XP Pro upgrade disc without SP2.
Error message – cannot install because the current version (running on the
machine) is newer than the disc. Is there a way to upgrade to Pro without
losing any settings or other current information? Thank you!

This means that your installed OS is at a higher service pack level
than is the WinXP Pro CD you're using. You'll either need to uninstall
SP2 (Control Panel, Add/Remove programs) before attempting the upgrade,
or try slipstreaming SP2 into older WinXP installation.
