Upgrading from XP home to XP Pro

I wanted to upgrade my home xp pc to xp pro but I get message that indicates
the current OS is newer than the one in the cd.

how can I resolve the problem?

Why do you want to upgrade? You probably have a service pack installed
in Home that is newer than the one that comes with Pro.

Your installed operating system is at a higher Service Pack level than the
XP Pro install disk. You need to slipstream Service Pack 3 into your XP Pro
install disk and then you will be able to upgrade. Make sure you back up
your data first because Stuff Happens.
