Upgrading XP Home to XP Professional

I tried to upgrade my OS from Home to Professional but received the following
message:

"Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer is
newer than the version on the CD.

Warning: If you decide to delete the newer version of Windows that is
currently installed on your computer, the files and settings cannot be
recovered."

I do not want to loose all the info if at all possible. Is there anything I
can do? THe CD is only Pro with SP1 would Pro with SP2 do the trick? I do
have SP2 on all the PC's.

You will need to create an SP2 slipstreamed CD to update XP Home SP2 to XP
Pro SP2. First download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from here:

(If you have the SP2 upgrade CD, you can use the xpsp2.exe file from that.
Copy it to your hard disk/partition)

then follow the directions in the following article:

You presumably have SP2 installed, so your XP Professional
Upgrade, without it, is an older version that what's installed.

You have two choices:

1. Uninstall SP2, do the upgrade, then reinstall SP2.

2. Create a slipstreamed version of XP Professional, including
SP2 and use it. See
