My son is running XP Home, there are five or six
different programs that were loaded from the net (he says
he did not load them) and can not be deleted. We tried
using Add/Remove Programs and just using WIndows Explorer
and deleting. Add/Delete says program can't be deleted,
Windows Explorer says "Access Denied"

We have made sure through Regedit that we have full sys
admin privledges.

The programs are search engines, ad, and others that we
do not want. Everytime we launch IE its behavior is
strange, suspect one of these is causing it. Any
recommendations would be appreciated.

Your PC is probably loaded with spyware that is also hogging resources.
