One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include
but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer,
SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, CounterSpy, AVG Anti-Spyware,
Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, NOD32, and Zone Alarm
(Free, Pro, & Security Suite).

You probably have a "Facebook" virus. I had it. This is how to resolve it.
I copied it from the web. Be sure to start in Safe Mode COMMAND PROMPT.

Here is the resolution:
- Start the computer in Safe mode (command prompt), go to the
Windows\System32 directory and remove the Splm.
- Remove the directory by running "Rmdir Splm /s", exit and reboot computer.
- open Regedit and search for all occurences of NCSJAPI32 and remove.

This NCSJAPI32 application is registered as "Intelli Mouse Pro Version 2.0B"
(pretty sneaky spyware).

One more thing. There is a little cleanup to get things back to normal. Use
Regedit and navigate to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer\Advanced.
Delete the "Folder" folder. It was created by the virus and keeps the radio
buttons from changing. Change the value of the "Hidden" DWORD to 1.
