hibernation

Hello everyone,
I am trying hibernate my XP box and then always boot to the saved hibernate
file.
I read about it on the internet but there seem to be no support around and
MSDN is of no use.
I have tried to backup the hiberfil.sys file after having hibernated the
system and then resume and shutdown normaly.
I then replaced the newly created hiberfil.sys file with the backed-up, but
when I powered on again , the system began the resume procedure and then
came up with
an error message stating that backup files are missing or corrupted. What
did I do wrong? Is there any way to sort that out?

Thanks in advance

Fabio
