Enters Hibernation but restarts immediately

Hi there,

I have been having this problem for months now. The first time I encountered
this problem, if I remember correctly, was after running Bootvis.exe. Ever
since then I have never been able to hibernate.

The problem is this:

When I hibernate, it goes through the whole procedure of hibernation and
actually go into hibernate mode (so it seems). However, my laptop powers up
almost immediately and resumes normal operation.

Now, can anyone help me please?

I would suspect a BIOS setting for 'wake on LAN'

Thank you for your reply.

However I've already disabled the "Wake on LAN" setting. In fact, I've gone
through the previous posts on Hibernation problems, and checked by settings
for the network cards, and the BIOS. Everything is in order, but I am still
having the problem.

I am not sure what Bootvis did to my system but I would really dread to have
to reinstall XP to solve this problem.
