Hibernation problem

Hi,

I have some laptops which often freeze up whuile
hibernating, the only way out is to reboot. However, as
the machine tries to start up i get this message:

the last attempt to restart the system from its previous
location failed. attempt to restart again?

then there are two options

delete restoration file and continue with system reboot
or
continue with system restart.

i am unable to select either option, what is causing this?
how can i prevent this from happening?

help!
