Using XP with auto updates and with Enable hibernation set under Power
Options, a restart after manual hibernation (use Sleep button) often fails,
ie, at power On PC starts up, then, when 'Resuming Windows' progress bar
reaches max, the PC freezes. After turning PC power Off then On, and
accepting 'Continue with restart, rather than goto system boot menu, the PC
recovers to previous desktop. Also, 'Hibernate' is not offered as one of the
3 options on Start>Turn Off Computer.
Similarly, recovery from manual Standby often fails!
Any suggestions?
Thanks
