XP freezes when it tries to resume from hibernation state. The status bar
goes all the way full and then nothing happens. The only way to boot back to
Windows is to reset or turn-off power and restart but not after seeing this
message and selecting to delete restoration data.
-------------------
Resuming Windows
The last attemp to restart the system from it's previous location failed.
Attemp to restart again?
- Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu
- Continue with system restart "
-------------------
Facts:
I installed my OS on a HD with over 137GB capacity. I was able to maximize
it beyond the 137 barrier by using its manufacturer's boot disk/utility. I
also had SP2 slipped strimmed into my XP pro. Under Computer Management/Disk
Management console, my system drive is recognized at 149.05 GB (supposedly
160GB). Additionally, the disk is not defective based from the test I ran
using the manufacturer's Diagnostic Utility.
I really like the hibernation function and I'm hoping there somekind of a
solution to this issue.
Tks...
