Help!!

help please!!!
i have got a prob with my desktop icons.
i changed my desktop background and when i changed it
back there was shading on the desktop icons where the
name of what the icon is if ya get me.I have tryed
everything to get rid of it but to no avail.
Any help would be very much welcomed

Right-click on your desktop and select:

Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web (tab)
and uncheck "Lock Desktop Items", click OK and APPLY.

Also, check this setting:

Right-click MY COMPUTER and select:
Properties > Advanced > Performance settings >
Visual Effects, place a check next to "Use Drop Shadows
for Icon Labels on the Desktop", then click "apply".
