I have XP proffesional with Office 2002 installed and am trying to install a VB5 application. Unfortunateley I keep getting an error stating that I cannot install the VB5 applicationas I do not have the latest service pack . It doesn't advise which service pack I need (VB or XP) but I allready have the latest XP SP (1a) and when I tried the latest VB5 SP I was advised I couldn't install it as I didn't have any VB5 applications installed!!!!!!! Anyone with any ideas???????

You would only install a VB SP if you had VB 5 already installed. From your
message, it sounds like you are trying to install an application written in
VB 5, but not the actual VB 5 development software itself. Is this correct?

If this is the case, then I would think the message is indicating that you
need a Windows SP. As you said, you already have XP SP 1, so do you have
all the other critical and driver updates as well. Also, for a VB 5
application to run, you need the file MSVBVM50.dll installed on your system.
Sometimes this runtime is included with the installation of the VB
application itself.
