Help with Windows XP Professional?

Alicia

I'm getting a pop up message that says

Files that are required for Windows to run properly have
been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain
system stability windows must restore the original
versions of these files.
Insert your Windows XP Professional cdrom now.

I can't find my cdrom!!! Anyone have any advice?

Hi

See if you have an i386 folder on your hard disk/partition - via Windows
Explorer - then try pointing to that instead of the XP CD.

Greetings --

Look on your hard drive to see if you have a folder called
"\i386." If so, try pointing out this location when asked for the CD.

You might try System Restore. Go to Start->Help and Support->Pick a task
section->click in System Restore. Follow the on screen instructions to
revert back to a time when the system was working correctly. Just try
reverting back a day or 2. Do not try rolling back too far.
