Help with settings...

Jennifer 246

I moved back to my old computer from my laptop and the fonts have changed
thanks to my daughter on all the pages, desktop, internet are all different
from what I used (Factory settings).

How do I change all of this to the original settings for the Desktop,
windows, text, etc?

I tried myself and have made a big mess .....LOL

Thanks,
Jennifer

Computer not in front of us . So the easiest and best way is to reformat your
machine

I did go to the link you provided and clicked Themes and went to the XP one,
the problem is the fonts (letterings) are too small or too light colored and
they are all different like the desktop is one, the www. box is another, etc.

Stick with laptop and "gift" desktop to daughter...or buy yourself a new PC
and keep the kid away from it.

Don't download anything from anybody except from microsoft.
They could contain malware/virus and or spyware.

When internet explorer is open, go to the Help tab and click, then select
about, it should tell you the version.

Also to select fonts for web pages do this.
In internet explorer, select tools, internet options, down at the bottom you
will see fonts, select that
In language script select latin based, in web page font, select Times New
Roman, in plain text font, select Courier New, then select ok, and ok again,
open a web site and see how it looks.

In desktop right click any blank portion of the desktop (any portion not an
ICON), choose properties, then appearance, for windows and buttons select
windows XP style, for color scheme choose blue, for font size choose Normal.
Select ok and things should be better.

I did this and it still looks the same. It's the color - it's so light - I
used to be able to see the www. really good and on webpages. It was when I
was in the properties area - apprearance and I started messing with things
that this all changed......

Try my Desktop Reset tool.

Warning - the site he's directing you to has hosted pornographic
materials that he's posted links for, claiming he created it.

Do you really trust such a questionable site from such a disreputable
person?

is that within explorer 8, or the desktop?
if you changed the theme it will effect how things appear, change the theme
back to xp, same method as before, right click on blank desktop, choose
properties, then themes, and in the drop down box select windows xp,ok your
way out and it should be back to normal, or default.try one of the other
themes ie windows xp modified.
I understand the feeling, computers can be complicated. I hope this helps.
let me know

We can see what you are seeing if you make a screen shot and post it
on of the free picture hosting sites (somebody provide the easy
ones). People do it all the time.

That will eliminate guesswork and trying things that might work.

You want something that does work.

Not an option - the lap top just wasn't cutting it.  Works better for her.

Are you tired of all the guessing what it might be yet?

Post a screen shot - or several.

An example of what he is talking about.
you read my response to your question, then you go back to your original
question to reply, instead of hitting reply while reading my message. it
makes it appear you are talking to yourself, instead of responding to a
question.
I hope this resolves your issue.
