help, some webpages show x instead of the pictures

Some webpages visually show an x inside a box, rather than the picture that
coincides with the link of selection bullet. Anyone know what causes this
and how to correct it? My OS is Windows2000 and my IE is version 6.

Thanks for any help out there,

Please use subject IE v6 problem in any email subject line, so I will
recognize what the email is for. I have a habbit of just deleting emails I
have no clue where they come from. Thanks in advance for any expert advice
you may afford me.

HI aneet :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

First - Do you have an accelerator supplied by your ISP? If so, try turning
it off.
It works by reducing image size (and therefor quality) for downloads.

Try clearing the IE cache. IE>Tools>Options>General>Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE:

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low
2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low
3. Uncheck "remove private headers" for all sites.
4. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing - fuzzy

Try changing the DPI setting from Large to Normal and see if that helps.

and..

The image rendering function in IE is limited. It doesn't support TIFF
format currently, and also for CYMK JPEG format.

You can download the TIFF Viewer - Freeware

A browser plug-in for viewing TIFF image files

Make sure that the Kill-bit is _NOT_ set to Flash Control.

Hope this helps.
