HELP!!!! Safari for Vista just got SLOW after recent Vista update!!!!!!!!

K

Ken

I just installed the latest updates to my Vista 2 days ago. Now my Safari
for Vista is taking a ridiculous time to start. When it would take maybe a
couple minutes at most, it's now taking 5 to 8 minutes or longer to start
up!! I have high speed internet and my IE and Firefox BOTH take like SECONDS
to start, meaning 1,2,3,4,5 SECONDS!! When I started using Safari it was
slow at first but then seemed to "learn" and got much quicker, as I've been
told Safari does this. Will it get progressively faster to start since the
updates?

Is there anything I can do to make it faster? A plug-in or extension?
Anything? HELP!!!!!!!! 8O

Out of curiousity, I just installed version 3.1.2, and it ran and loaded
reasonably fast.
No faster than IE7, just a tad slower.

Maybe you should uninstall it...then re-install.

Myself, I uninstalled it....waste of time.

I'll consider uninstalling it if it looks to work. Why did you uninstall it
if it works fine for you? It worked great for me until I installed the new
Vista updates.

Because I don't need 2 shoes on my left foot.

I see. When I uninstall it is there a way to keep my bookmarks from my BM
folder as well as from the BM bar? I've set everything up exactly as I need
it and that will be an impossible chore to try to duplicate what's on the BM
bar.

Well, I'd been using IE until I tried Safari, and I liked it. I'm a longtime
Mac user and I recognized a lot of the features and things, and it was,
then, very quick, and has been until now since the updates. I got Firefox a
few months ago, though, and I find it impressive but haven't spent much time
on it. I've only seen Chrome in pictures and vintage cars.

Only one thing wrong here, bud:
Running a browser which is written by Apple primarily for OS X don't
work so great when Microsoft updates its Windows code and Apple
doesn't. Wait for Apple to update Safari. It may take a few months.

Consider iTunes for Windows: Since its initial release for Windows,
Apple continued to use a CD/DVD driver which does not work so well with
other CD/DVD drivers, and as a result, when iTunes was installed, it
broke access in Windows to the CD/DVD drives if at the Desktop or in a
non-Apple program. It took Apple almost 3 years to fix it. And I'm
still sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for my CD/DVD drive to
disappear at any time.

We spend most of the money for iTunes and other Apple products, but
Apple chooses to not update their Windows-based programs till they have
their OS X products fixed first.

Do what I did: GET RID Of Apple!!!

Better yet, download the IE 8 Beta 2 bits and install it.
