Why does my computer stop at the HP white & blue screen with v3.06 in the
left corner? It won't carry thru to the Windows set up
AS you are not gettting through to anything, have a go at switching off the
computer with the switch at the back for 30 seconds or so.
Remember that when you tell the computer to close down late at night, it is just
like the television being put off temporarily. Power is still on the TV and some
curcuit still work.
It is the same with the computer. Mine does it frequently but not often enough
to have it sent for repair - probably new motherboard. However such intermittent
faults are difficult to find and it is not really a lot of bother to reach for
the switch at the back.
I speak from experience as I was a TV tech in UK right from the very first days
after WW2. Some troubles were next to impossible to find even given a week's
soak test. We used tricks like freezers and hairdryers to cool or warm things up
to hurry the fault up.
